Trust 2

"Mama, my body feels tired so I want to go to bed now." What? ....out of the mouth of my three year old tonight. No tears, no begging for more stories, no nothing but happily playing alongside her older sister and brother, who were listening to a book on tape and building with legos. After many months on the Unschooling yahoo groups, I feel like it's finally coming together for us the way it has been described by other unschoolers. All too often, I doubt myself and find the traditional methods rearing their ugly heads. It only takes a peaceful, lovely night like tonight to help me add another layer of trust to the relationships that I have with the kids. As the trust builds, the old knee-jerk methods seem to fade furhter and further away. The kids know what they need and when they need it. I just need to listen.
