TRUST 3 (Bananas)

OK, so I'm starting to really get it and REALLY believe it! On the unschooling message board that I belong to, veteran unschoolers write about their experiences with their families, especially in the realm of no limits on, among other things, food. We have been slowly moving toward this at our house. The kids make all of their own choices with regard to snacks, knowing that we have everything available from ice cream to candy canes to fruits and vegetables. I firmly believe that in our culture, we give food much more power than it should have....(thus, the preoccupation with weight control and the prevalence of eating disorders...) We are hoping to avoid this in our family by allowing free access to all types of food and allowing the kids the opportunity to know how to read their bodies. Above, see the happy manifestation of free food choice....."BANANAS!", yelled CC and Will a recent night when asked if they were hungry. Their happy faces reveal how they feel about choosing their own (and healthy) snacks!
(P.S. Boots may also have been influencing their choice!! ;) )
